The Yellow & Blue advanced to round two of Europa League qualifying after defeating Gorica 1:0 and 4:0 on aggregate. Yossi Benayoun made his debut last night and scored the winning the goal in his first appearance. Maccabi will now play Kairat Almaty in the second round as the Kazakstan side features the likes of Arshavin, Tymoshchuk and former Beitar player Cesar Arzo.

Beitar Jerusalem 1:0 Tuzla

Beitar Jerusalem also moved on in Europa League qualifying after winning at home against the Bosnian outfit 1:0. Omer Atzili scored a penalty for the home side to help them advance.

Maccabi Haifa will also join Europa League qualifying and will play Estonian club Kalju while Hapoel Beer Sheva will begin their Champions League qualification bid against Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova.
