Maccabi Ramat Gan upset Ramle 73-72 to win the Women’s Israel State Cup at the Ralph Klein Arena in Yavne. The underdogs controlled the pace of play throughout the 40 minutes and Eden Rotberg with 22 points starred in the victory while Khaalia Hillsman added 14 points and 12 rebounds, Natisha Hiedeman chipped in with 13 points as Alex Harden and Tal Lev each scored 12 points to win the title for Roie Lazare’s squad. Betnijah Laney led Ramle with 27 points and Tiffany Mitchell added 20 points in the defeat.

“The truth is I can’t even describe my joy in words,” said an overwhelmed Rotberg following the game. “We believed in ourselves, we were the underdog and at the end of the day I’m thrilled that we were able to stay together as one and win the Cup.”
