“It was all about the defense,” Maccabi coach Oded Katash said. “We cannot control missing shots, as I said at halftime, but we need to focus on the things we can control, and it’s rebounding and fighting. We were lucky that we got the rhythm in the last 12 minutes of the game. I think we turned the game around, but we should have started like that, with the same attitude.”

“We didn’t stop Lorenzo Brown in the last quarter,” Bayern bench boss Andrea Trinchieri commented. “That was the thing. We were ahead for three quarters and a half, and then Lorenzo Brown makes some tough shots, while we made mistakes on defense.”

The game’s MVP Lorenzo Brown spoke about the win, ”[Coming back like this] feels amazing. The most important thing is that we got the win. It was a great game on both ends. They made us work, and we have to appreciate that. We stepped up defensively [in the second half]; our main goal was to try to stop their main guys. They hit some though shots towards the end; sometimes it happens. But we got the win which is the most important.”
