Maccabi, Jerusalem, Ashdod & Holon move on in Israel Basketball State Cup Quarter Finals!

Hapoel Ness Ziona 73-75 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv just scraped past Hapoel Ness Ziona in what was a very close encounter. Sylvan Landesberg scored 7 huge points late in the 4th quarter to help propel the Yellow & Blue to the win. Colton Iverson opened strong scoring 14 points early, while Andrew Goudelock added 14 of his own for Maccabi including some clutch points near the end of the contest. Elad Hoffman had 17 points, while Lee Roberts had 14 for Hapoel Ness Ziona.

Hapoel Jerusalem 68-56 Bnei Herzliya

In a rematch of Hapoel Jerusalem’s most recent league game, the Reds beat Bnei Herzliya 68-56 in Cup play to advance to the semifinals. Curtis Jerrells and Jerome Dyson both scored 18 points while Amare Stoudemire picked up a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds for Hapoel Jerusalem in a poorly played victory that featured only 8 assists. Jeff Adrien scored 17 points for Herzliya, whom were without star player Karam Mashour.

Maccabi Ashdod 95-90 Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Ashdod beat Maccabi Haifa in what was a close encounter, 95-90. Daniel Ewing and Jake Cohen both had 22 points for Maccabi Ashdod. Will Graves finished with 21 points, while Tony Mitchell scored 14 in the losing effort for Haifa.

Hapoel Beer Sheva 80-88 Hapoel Holon

Hapoel Holon beat Hapoel Beer Sheva in what was a close Cup game encounter. Hapoel Beer Sheva played well but ultimately lost to Holon’s quality. Basketball Super League December’s Player of the Month Khaliff Wyatt scored a huge 29 points, while Shlomi Harush scored 14 for Hapoel Holon. Jason Williams dropped 19 points, while Jeffery Allen scored 18 for the losing Beer Sheva.
