The Sports Rabbi took a deep dive into the Hapoel Tel Aviv’s game at London Lions with a number of special guests that attended the contest at the Wembley Arena in order to get a sense of British basketball and how it can take the next step both in its own country as well as in the continent.
First up was Sam Neter from Hoops Fix who gave us a rundown of the steps that British hoops needs to take and what can be done to expand the coverage of the sport. Kevin Hatchard from Talk Sport came on next to describe the sights and sounds from the first basketball game that he had attended.
We then welcomed on DJ Deb Grant from Jazz FM and BBC Radio 6 Music as she spoke about living right around the corner from the Lions home arena the Copper Box and how her fandom for the team began. Finally Brian Bosche joined the show and spoke about moving to London from the United States and finding a way to become a part of the British Basketball fabric as he freelances for both the BBL and the London Lions!
Finally, Roy Jankelowitz came on board to look back at the Israeli basketball teams in Europe from Maccabi Tel Aviv to Hapoel Holon and of course Hapoel Tel Aviv as well as the latest news from the Israeli soccer world with new coaches at both Hapoel and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
