The Sports Rabbi spoke to Ryan Schmidt the head coach of the London Lions ahead of their EuroCup opener at Hapoel Tel Aviv on Tuesday as both teams make their debut in the competition. Schmidt who won the Canadian Summer League championship with Hamilton and had been an assistant with the Toronto Raptors G-League team for a number of seasons has worked his way up the ladder and now has the chance of a lifetime as he makes the move to European hoops. Don’t miss out on a tremendous conversation that delves into some of London’s players including Sam Dekker, Kosta Koufos and Vojtech Hruban plus Schmidt also discuses Maccabi Tel Aviv guards Lorenzo Brown and Wade Baldwin who he worked with at the 905’s.
Roye Shelem also comes on board to look at the Israeli soccer situation as we talk about Maccabi Haifa’s disturbing defeat to Bnei Reineh, the upcoming Tel Aviv Derby, Beitar Jerusalem’s troubles and much more!
