Beitar Jerusalem 0-1 Kiryat Shemona
Beitar Jerusalem finally played a home match at home, the first in 3 months due to radius matches penalizing the club for various infractions including racist chants. Unfortunately, this may have been the last game Beitar plays at home as the ugly songs were heard from the East Stand. Ahmed Abed scored the lone goal of the game on a free kick in the 83rd minute sending Kiryat Shemona temporarily into the 2nd spot in the table ahead of a Beer Sheva as the fans went wild when he told the Beitar faithful to be quiet as he prayed on the Teddy pitch infuriating the fans even further. Beitar’s coach has now picked up only 2 points out of their last 5 games and may lose yet another point due to this latest disgrace by the fans.
Maccabi Petach Tikva 1-2 Hapoel Beer Sheva
Beer Sheva kept their slim hopes alive by taking the victory at The Moshava Stadium with the help of red hot striker Dovev Gabbay’s brace. Petach Tikva went down to 10-men when Daniel Dimov was sent off for pulling down a Beer Sheva player close to the goal. After Gabbay’s first goal, Guy Melamed evened the score just minutes later but Beer Sheva was able to win the game after John Ogu was taken down in the box good for Gabbay to convert a penalty and send the desert club back home happy.
After a scoreless first half Ashdod got on the scoreboard first as Alex Davidov scored in the 62nd minute. However his strike was cancelled out by Muhamed Ghadir as the home side split the points with relegation candidate Ashdod who barely stay out of the zone by 1 point with 2 games to go.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-1 Maccabi Netanya
Netanya struck first as Larry Koyade scored from an offside position but it didn’t matter to him as he celebrated with Eran Zahavi’s Pew Pew shooting! Hapoel Tel Aviv didn’t like much of that as they drew even by halftime with captain Shai Abutbol picking up the assist of striker Shlomi Azoulay’s goal. The second half saw more Abutbol as he helped Sari Falach score after not playing the last 4 games and gave The Reds 3 points and the win!
Hapoel Akko 2-0 Hapoel Raanana
Akko picked up the victory and moved further away from the relegation zone as Shlomi Dura’s team played a perfect match to claim the 3-points. Amir Abu-El-Nir and Zion Tzemah scored for the hosts and Ioannis Papadopoulos missed a penalty kick in the first half.
Hapoel Haifa 3-2 Hapoel Petach Tkva
Haifa played the famous Rocky song Eye of the Tiger to get the fans and team geared up for their crucial relegation zone matchup and it worked as the home side scored the 3-points. Petach Tikva took a quick 2-0 lead by the 16th minute on a brace by Dor Hugi, but Haifa came storming back in the 2nd half as Hamdi Salihi hit a brace of his own and Oshri Roash also slotted one home to give Tal Benin the win and some hope that Haifa still stands a chance to move out of 13th position. On the other side of the pitch Menachem Koretzky will now need a miracle to avoid heading down to the Liga Leumit next season as the loss Al,let cements their spot in last place.
