Jerusalem clinches Round of 16 place in 92-72 win over Antwerp

In other action, Hapoel Jerusalem crushed the Antwerp Giants 92-72 in Champions League Basketball action at Jerusalem’s Pais Arena to improve their record to 8-2 in the European competition and advance to the round of 16. James Feldeine scored all of his 20 points in a dominant first half while Amare Stoudemire scored 18 points and pulled down 6 rebounds, Tamir Blatt added 14 points and 8 assists, Josh Owens chipped in with 11 points and 10 boards as Tashawn Thomas had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 blocks. Jerusalem’s stifling defense limited Paris Lee to only 7 points on 3/15 shooting as Oded Katash’s squad suffocated the Belgians all night long.

The Reds scored at will early in the paint while Feldeine led the way with 10 first quarter points to take a 25-22 lead. Jerusalem increased their advantage to 54-42 after twenty minutes of action thanks to an active Feldeine who doubled his output to 20 points.

Katash’s men continued to put the pedal to the metal in the second half as Thomas and Blatt put on a show to take a 73-54 lead after the third frame as Amare Stoudemire led the way to the 20-point victory.

“This is one of the teams that beat us this season and we had our eyes on this game as we wanted to avenge the loss,” Feldeine said.
