Hapoel Jerusalem announced the signing of forward Jeremy Morgan (29, 1.96m) for the upcoming season on Sunday. Morgan was a key player in Bourg’s excellent season, leading them to the EuroCup finals and two years ago he won the Basketball Champions League with Telekom Bonn.
Morgan is considered a very versatile swingman and an excellent defender. In his senior season at Northern Iowa College, he averaged 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and nearly 2 steals per game. In all of the teams he has played for in Europe, he has consistently posted double-digit numbers. In Bonn, where he did not appear in the 2023 Champions League Final Four due to injury, he had a great season with 13.8 points, 38% from three, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and more than 1 steal per game. Last season in Bourg, he recorded 10 points, 42% from three, and 1.8 steals per game in the EuroCup.
Jeremy Morgan said, “I’m extremely excited to join Hapoel. I’m looking forward to starting this season with this great club and I hope to bring my experience and winning mentality. For me personally after winning the BCL and reaching the EuroCup finals, I am 100% locked in to help bring Hapoel to the next level. I also remember the unbelievable atmosphere that the red fans brought back in Malaga, and I can’t wait to feel that energy once again!! Yalla Hapoel!”
Head coach Yonatan Alon added, “Jeremy has qualities that every team wants. He is an outstanding defender, an excellent shooter, can efficiently play several positions, and above all, he finds ways to contribute and turn teamwork into a deadly weapon. He has been in the positions we are aiming for, and I am sure that together we can take the next step forward.”
