James Young stars for Hapoel Tel Aviv in win, Eilat sinks Jerusalem in the capital city


Hapoel Tel Aviv downed Hapoel Beer Sheva 95-86 as newcomer James Young starred in the win with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Danny Franco’s team raced out to an early 21-15 lead and near looked back as they headed into the last quarter with a 80-58 advantage to cruise to the victory. In addition to Young’s sterling performance, three players scored 15 points Tyrique Jones (14r), Bar Timor and Yam Madar (8a) in the win. Caleb Agada matched Young with 27 points while Spencer Weisz and Eric Griffin each scored 14 points in the loss.

Hapoel Eilat sunk Hapoel Jerusalem 104-95 in the capital city thanks to a 32-25 final frame to help Ariel Beit Halachmi’s squad notch the win. Dainius Adomaitis’s team jumped out to a 28-23 lead on strength of Adam Ariel’s sharpshooting after ten minutes, but Casey Prather, Joe Ragland, Markel Brown and Josh Nebo once again paced the Red Sea side over the last three quarters to take the victory.

Brown led Eilat with 21 points, Prather added 20 points, Ragland checked in with 19 points and 8 assists while Nebo recorded a double double 16 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Adan Ariel paced Jerusalem with 19 points, Suleiman Braimoh added 16 points and Tamir Blatt chipped in with 15 points.
