Jake Cohen comes back to the Holy Land on a two-year deal with the yellow-and-blue after playing for a year at Obradoiro in Spain. The power forward will be joining Maccabi for the third time in his career while having also played with Maccabi Ashdod, Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion and Aris in Greece. The last time the 30-year old played under coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos, he helped lift the championship plate to cap off the 2019/20 season following the outbreak of COVID-19.
Cohen will provide high basketball IQ, terrific shooting and fantastic all around play as he can play both the 4 and 5 positions as an Israeli. This past season in the ACB League, Cohen scored 8.2 points and grabbed 3.8 rebounds in close to 22 minutes per game.
“I am thrilled to be back home with my yellow family”, Jake Cohen told the club’s website. “It is an honor to play once again for Maccabi Tel Aviv and I hope to help the club achieve its goals. See you in Menorah soon!”
“We want to welcome Jake Cohen back to Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv”, said coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos. “Everybody knows Jake’s high value, as a personality and as a player. That’s why we’re very happy that he rejoined us, to compete all together for our goals.”
