After the signing of AJ Mitnick as Chairman of Basketball Operations and Ronnie Levi as General Manager of the team for the next five years, Inter Aliyah added three new players from the Israeli basketball community.
Inter Aliyah has already been making strides in the basketball world as it elevated from Liga Bet to Liga Aleph in just one season. After an offseason that focused on preparing to compete for another year in Liga Bet, Inter received the call from for promotion to Liga Aleph in early September and immediately got to work on improving its roster with new additions.
Inter Aliyah has established itself as the first and only sports club in Israel designed for new immigrants. The club was built by Olim for Olim in order to help new immigrants from around the world integrate into Israel through sports. On Monday, the club announced the addition of three veteran players to the ranks of the basketball team in Meir Tapiro, Yaniv Green and Lior Levi.
Meir Tapiro is widely considered one of the greatest Israeli basketball players of all time. In 2002, Tapiro won MVP of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. In 2010, he won the award for “Player of the Decade” and currently holds the record for most appearances in the Premier League in basketball with 511 games played in the regular season.
Yaniv Green, is best known as the starting center for the Israeli National team during the 2000’s and had a career with a rich history of winning including a Euroleague title, six Israeli Premier League championships and four Israeli State Cup victories. The big man holds the record for the most appearances in the history Israeli National Basketball Team with 193. In addition to playing with the team, Green will also serve as one of the assistant coaches.
Lior Levi was the former captain of Hapoel Holon when his team won the Israeli Premier League championship in 2007-08. Levi established himself as a leading player in both the Premier and National Leagues over the prime of his basketball career. He played at clubs including Elitzur Netanya and Maccabi Petach Tikva.

Ricardo Horvath, CEO of the Inter Aliyah club concludes: “We are starting our experience in the Aleph League with a strong base of Olim players who continue with us from last season.
