There are a number of Israeli basketball teams participating in the FIBA Europe Cup group stages along with some who will be a part of the qualification process in order to enter the tournament. One of those teams is the defending FIBA Europe Cup champion Nes Ziona who will need to navigate through the qualifiers in order to advance to the group stages.
Hapoel Gilboa Galil has already punched their ticket to the group stages after having played in the Israeli League finals where they fell to Maccabi Tel Aviv in a decisive third game. The Galilee squad was drawn into possibly the mose difficult group in the competition which includes Zaragoza, Reggio Emilia and Avtodor Saratov.
Nes Ziona under new head coach Lior Lubin will take on the winner of GGMT Vienna and Parnu Sadam and will then need to defeat the winner of Porto Keravnos in order to return to the group stages where they would join Oradea, Szolnoki and Warsaw.
Hapoel Haifa will also be taking part in the Europe Cup qualifiers and will play Enisey in their first matchup and will then need to win another game in order to get into the group stages.
Finally, Hapoel Eilat have a guaranteed place in the group stages should they not advance in Basketball Champions League qualifying play.
