After a 36-36 first half, Ioannis Sfairopoulos’s squad held the Galilee team to just 9 points in the third quarter and were able to stifle a late game comeback to take the victory. Wilbekin scored 23 points, Ante Zizic added 17 points and Angelo Caloairo scored 9 points in the win. Kerry Blackshear led Avishay Gordon’s club with 17 points and Jehyve Floyd chipped in with 10 points in the loss.
Hapoel Holon steamrolled Hapoel Jerusalem 103-81 in a game that was never close to notch the win at the Romema Arena in Haifa. Stefanos Dedas’s team overwhelmed the Reds with superior depth after Yonatan Alon’s squad saw four foreigners leave due to the security situation and were no match for the Balkan League title holders. CJ Harris led the way with 23 points, Nate Sestina added 21 points and Chris Johnson scored 18 points in the win. Suleiman Braimoh scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Reds while Tamir Blatt and Idan Zalmanson each scored 14 points in the loss.
Bnei Herzliya got off to a hot start but succumbed to a depleted Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion squad 106-88. Sharon Drucker’s team led 51-48 at halftime but a red hot Golan Gutt helped Guy Goodes’s squad outscore Herzliya 58-37 in the second half to take the win. Gutt scored 34 points, rising star Noam Dovrat added 22 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists. 3 blocks and no turnovers, Akil Mitchell chipped in with 18 points and Egor Koulechov scored 15 points in the win. Max Heidegger led Herzliya with 28 points, Elijah Thomas chipped in with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Coty Clarke scored 14 points in the defeat.
Nes Ziona ran all over Maccabi Haifa 106-79 to pick up their 9th win in a row. After a first half that saw Brad Greenberg’s team ahead by only 4-points, 49-45, the FIBA Europe Cup champions outscored the Greens 56-33 over the final 20 minutes to record the easy win. Braian Angola led all scorers with 27 points, Patrick Miller added 19 points while Jerome Meyinsse and Wayne Selden each chipped in with 15 points a piece in the victory. Naor Sharon and Michael Cobbins scored 15 points each to lead Amit Ben David’s team in the loss.
Hapoel Beer Sheva easily disposed of Nahariya 90-75 up north at Ein Sara as the southern squad raced out to a 33-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as Rami Hadar’s team cruised to the win. Spencer Weisz led the way for Beer Sheva with 23 points and 8 rebounds, Travis Warech added 17 points, Eric Thompson scored 16 points and grabbed 7 boards while Nick Hornsby chipped in with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
