Hapoel Beer Sheva 1:1 Maccabi Tel Aviv
In what was billed as the Match of the Year we got plenty of end to end action, a goal form each club and a point a piece at the end of the day. Eran Zahavi swung in a magnificent 10th minute corner kick that Carlos Garcia headed behind Beer Sheva keeper Dudu Goresh to give the Yellow-and-Blue a shocking 1:0 lead at Turner Stadium. However, Ovidiu Hoban drew his side even in the 24th minute taking a Maor Bozaglo pass into the box beating Serbian keeper Predrag Rajikovic to help split the points. Hapoel Beer Sheva remains in first place by one-point as the two clubs will play again late in April.
Hapoel Raanana 3:0 Maccabi Haifa
A disappointing loss for the Greens as Haim Silvas and his Raanana side dominated almost every facet of a 3:0 win. Rene Mihelic scored a penalty and Yuval Shabtai along with striker Barak Badash scored second half goals to send Roni Levy’s team to defeat.
Bnei Sakhnin 0:0 Beitar Jerusalem
A poor referee call for an offside goal that was onside changed the tempo of the match and to Beitar’s defeat at Doha Stadium in Sakhnin. Just one minute after the ref’s call that claimed Arsenio Valpoort’s goal was offside Weam Amasha scored to give Sakhnin a 1:0 lead in the 61st minute. The hosts would add insult to injury later on in the half as Shlomi Azulay scored on a judgment error by Beitar keeper Boris Kleyman as the Jerusalem side head home empty handed.
