The Israel Under-19 Women’s National Team recorded a historic victory at the World Championship with a 63-61 win over South Korea thanks to an amazing second half. Head Coach Tal Natan’s team fell behind by double digits early on in the second quarter after beginning the game on the wrong foot, but the momentum shifted to the blue-and-white’s side in the second half. Israel rattled off a quick 8-1 run to get the third quarter underway while playing tight defense by only allowing 21 points in the second half. The South Korean squad had a chance to ruin Israel’s day but they missed a shot at the buzzer and sent the blue-and-white women into ecstasy.
Gal Raviv one again starred for Israel with 30 points after a 35 point effort in the opening game of the tournament, Ayala Oren added 13 points and Mayan Cohen scored 11 points in the win.
