The Israel Under-18 National Team defeated Denmark 100-86 as David Musis starred to help the young blue-and-white advance to the quarterfinals of the European Championships where they will face Slovenia on Thursday. With the victory, the Israel U18 team will remain in Division A for next summer’s competition.

Head Coach Nadav Zilberstein’s squad opened up an 11-point lead in the first quarter but the Danes cut down the deficit and even took the leas in the second quarter but Israel finished the half strong to take a 50-40 advantage after twenty minutes of action. In the second half, Israel completely took control of the game thanks to outstanding performances from Musis, Aviv Aronov and Omri Orland who led the young blue-and-white to the 14-point victory. Musis led the way with 23 points and 17 rebounds, Aronov added 22 points and Orland dropped 21 points in the win.

Omri Orland spoke about the victory, “We’re very happy. We achieved an important win that keeps us in Division A and also sends us to the quarterfinals, which was one of our goals. Personally, I’m very pleased with the game I had and I think that I showed what I’m capable of. We still haven’t accomplished anything yet. We’re coming to give it everything we’ve got.”
