Israel fell to South Korea 11-1 in 7 innings after the mercy rule was enacted when there is a 10 run lead after the 7th inning has been played. The Blue & White will now ready for the Dominican Republic on Tuesday at 13:00 Israel time as they look to remain in the medal hunt.

Korea scored early and often and grabbed a quick 3-0 lead after two innings that set the stage for their offensive outburst later on in the game that saw the entire starting lineup get at least one hit.

Israel came close to tying up the game or perhaps even take the lead in the top of the 5th but Ryan Lavarnway who had come through in the clutch numerous times thus far in the Olympics, popped up weakly to the pitcher on a 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded to end the threat.

Korea hammered Alex Katz in the bottom half of the inning and put up 7 runs to take an insurmountable 10-1 lead while Shlomo Lipetz gave up the final run to end the game two frames later.

Should Israel defeat the Dominican Republic they will then play the loser of the USA and Japan game. A win in that game and the Blue & White will stay in the hunt for a Gold or Silver medal while a loss will place them in the Bronze medal game.
