Israel fell to Germany 73-61 in the Under-20 European Championships as their group stage record dropped to 2-1 but still finished this part of the tournament in first place as they will now ready for the knockout rounds where they will face Greece on Wednesday.

The blue-and-white saw Alon Michaeli and Noam Yaacov lead the way over the course of the first half, but Germany was able to head into halftime with a 31-27 advantage. Eyal Harel and Shachar Doron helped move head coach Elad Hasin’s team into the lead midway through the third quarter, but strong play from Martin Kalu, Elias Rapieque and Justin Onyejiaka put Germany back in front as they snatched the 12-point win.
Yaacov scored 18 points, Dorom added 14 points and Michael scored 12 points in the loss.
