The Israel Under-20 Men’s National Team downed Turkey 113-81 in their first classification game after having been eliminated for the European Championship crown. With the victory the blue-and-white have ensured that they will play in Division A and will have another crack at competing for the continental crown.
Ilay Dolinski and Noam Yaacov scored in bunches for Israel over the course of the first half while Berke Buyuktuncel and Emre Melih Tunca countered for Turkey but the blue-and-white grabbed a 53-46 lead at halftime. Elad Hasin’s squad continued to score at will as Shachar Doron, Yoav Berman and Alon Michaeli found points while Dolinski and Yaacov added points as well to help Israel cruise to the victory.
Doron and Dolinski each scored 21 points, Yaacov added 17 points, Berman scored 15 points and Michaaeki scored 13 points in the win.
