Maccabi Haifa 91-56 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi Tel Aviv got slaughtered on the court losing to Maccabi Haifa by 35. This game was over before it really even started with Haifa going up 12 after the first frame. Gregory Vargas led Haifa with 21 points and 10 assists for the double double. Haifa shot an amazing 52% from beyond the arc. On the other end Tel Aviv struggled from there, shooting 22% from three. The one silver lining for Tel Aviv from this game is the potential of newly added Elijah Milsap. He scored 15 points while logging only 23 minutes. Haifa is now one game behind Tel Aviv in the standings.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 90-89 Bnei Herzliya
Hapoel escaped this nail-biter in OT with a one point win against Herzliya. Josh Williamson led the team with a game high 27 points and added 9 rebounds. Hapoel moved the ball around well the entire game logging an impressive 28 assists. James Singleton scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds in the thriller. Herzliya went on an impressive run extending their lead to 20 points in the 2nd quarter. Tel Aviv fought their way back in the game and won on a game winning shot by Raviv Limonad with 2.2 seconds left in OT. Herzliya shot better from beyond the arc tonight than the free throw line. If Amado Enjou shoots better than his 25% from the line this game could have been a different story.
Ness Ziona 89-83 Rishon Le’Zion
In only 22 minutes of play Ivan Aska led Ness Ziona to an upset win against Rishon Le’zion with 17 points. Mark Lyons kept Rishon in the game with a game high 22 points. The contest was very close until Ness Ziona outscored Rishon by 9 in the third quarter to take a seven point game. The game was still close but Rishon could not pull off the comeback.
Maccabi Kiryat Gat 88-84 Maccabi Ashdod
After a slow start in the first quarter going down 12 points, Kiryat Gat came out with the thrilling victory against Ashdod. Paul Delaney led Kiryat Gat with a stellar performance including 27 points. Ashdod started hot scoring 30 points in the first frame, but their offense got cold in the 2nd quarter which led to Kiryat Gat tying the game at the half. Jonathan Skjöldebrand led Ashdod with 27 points as well.
Ironi Nahariya 75-71 Hapoel Holon
Nahariya took the victory over Hapoel Holon behind Cameron Clark’s game high 27 points. Niv Berkowitz played a good supporting role putting in 8 points, 9 assists and 10 rebounds. Will Clyburn had a team high 16 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
