Nes Ziona picked up a valuable away victory at Holon as Orange newcomer Sundiata Gaines impressed in his debut for the visitors. Gaines entered the game in the second quarter with the score at 21 a piece and immediately paid dividends to his new club as he finished the game with 24 points going 7/9 from 3-point land while also pulling down 7 rebounds. Tal Karpelesz scored 15 points while Ivan Aska added 14 points in the win. Ramel Bradley scored 21 points in a losing effort for Holon who drop to 4-12.
Maccabi Ashdod 96-86 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Tzvika Sherf has won two games this season against his former club from Tel Aviv as his Croatian counterpart Zan Tabac was ejected after a 2nd technical foul in the 3rd quarter. After a close first half the home side opened up their play in the decisive third frame as Ashdod outscored Maccabi 27-15 to run away with the win. Charles Thomas scored 21 points while Jonathan Skjoldebrand (18pts) drained 4/4 from three-point land in the win. Sylvan Landesberg scored 15 points and Guy Pnini dropped 14 points in the losing effort.
Maccabi Kiryat Gat 89-100 Nahariya
The northern visitors hit the 100 point mark and defeated Kiryat Gat on the road. Nahariya boasted efficient long distance shooting going 9/13 from beyond the arc and a terrific 61% on 2-point shots as Cameron Clark led the way for the victors with 28 points. On the flip side, Kiryat Gat shot an abysmal 3/17 from 3-point land and featured Paul Delaney with 28 points in the loss.
Maccabi Haifa 80-73 Bnei Herziliya
The Greens solidified their position in 3rd place moving to 10-6 with the 7-point overtime win. Chanan Colman and Reginald Buckner each dropped 18 points while Gregory Vargas dished out 8 assists in the win. Herziliya had four players in double digits, but couldn’t do much in the extra frame to find a way to a victory.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 77-83 Hapoel Eilat
Oded Katash came back to came back to haunt his old team winning away in Tel Aviv. Using a shirt rotation of just 7 players, Katash’s side was able to find just enough from Alade Aminu who scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Amit Simhon matched Aminu’s total with 17 points of his own. For Hapoel Jeff Allen picked up a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards while Tre Simmons and Raviv Limonad each contributed 19 points.
