Hapoel Jerusalem 99:97 Hapoel Tel Aviv (OT)
Despite Nate Robinson’s heroic 46 point performance, Jerusalem was able to outlast the Tel Aviv Red’s by 2-points on Eli Holman’s (17pts) last second outback to give the home side the game one victory. EJ Rowland scored 19 points while Lior Eliyahu led all Israelis with 18 points of his own. Donta Smith with 14 points and Josh Duncan with 11 rounded out five players in double digits. Jerusalem ran out to a first quarter lead but Tel Aviv led by Robinson was able to go ahead later on in the game and looked to perhaps be able to steal the one game to none series lead but it was not to be.
Maccabi Tel Aviv 76:75 Bnei Herzliya
Sylven Landesberg led the way for a Yellow & Blue win at Yad Eliyahu as the Israeli scored 21 points to lead his team over the visiting Herzliya club. Yogev Ohayon (5pts) sealed the win with a pair of free throws with only 10 seconds remaining in the contest. Itay Segev scored 11 points while pulling down 14 boards for the winners to give Maccabi a perfect 4 for 4 against Herzliya this season.
Ironi Nahariya 75:82 Hapoel Eilat
Eilat had been in a 15 point hole but was able to come back and draw even at 60:60 with the help of veteran guard Afik Nissim who dropped 29 points on the night. Eilat can thank solid free throw shooting going 19/21 from the charity stripe in the win.
Maccabi Haifa 69:71 Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion
Mark Lyons with 23 points helped lead the vistors to the 2-point win in a tightly contested matchup. Will Graves put in 20 points for the home side in the loss. RIishon dished out 22 assists playing an all around good game of ball to pick up the valuable one game to none lead.
