Maccabi Tel Aviv 91-67 Maccabi Kiryat Gat
Maccabi Tel Aviv continued their good form with a convincing 91-67 victory over Maccabi Kiryat Gat. Tel Aviv had 6 players in double digits as they spread the scoring and ran away with the game. The visitors began well taking a 14-5 lead early but the Yellow & Blue came back with a 20-3 run to end the first quarter with a 25-17 advantage and never looked back. Andrew Goudelock led with 19 points, Gal Mekel had 13 points and 9 assists from the bench and Sylvan Landesberg dropped 14 points in 14 minutes of play. Justin Carter had 18 points, while Tyshawn Taylor had 16 points for Kiryat Gat.
Hapoel Jerusalem 93-71 Maccabi Haifa
Hapoel Jerusalem ended their 5 game skid with a blowout 93-71 victory over Maccabi Haifa. All five of Jerusalem’s starters finished the contest in double digits. Bar Timor and Curtis Jerrells both had 20 points, while Amare Stoudemire finished with a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for Jerusalem. Amit Simhon and Tony Mitchell had 17 points a piece for Haifa. Haifa took the lead in the second quarter, but a gritty and angry looking Hapoel Jerusalem shot the ball well and played lockdown defense to take the W.
Bnei Herzliya 83-82 Gilboa/Galil
Bnei Herzliya escaped Gilboa/Galil with an 83-82 victory. Stephen Dennis led the scoring with a massive 31 points from the bench, while Taurean Green had 11 points for Herzliya. Eric Griffin and Jason Siggers had 18 points a piece in the loss for Gilboa/Galil.
Hapoel Eilat 86-78 Hapoel Holon
Hapoel Eilat had 4 players in double-digits, beating Hapoel Holon 86-78 away. Afik Nissim led the way with 15 points in 15 minutes, while Reginald Buckner and Pierria Henry both had 13 for Eilat. Khalif Wyatt had 25 points in the loss for Holon.
Rishon Le’Zion 84-77 Maccabi Ashdod
Rishon Le’Zion beat Maccabi Ashdod 84-77 as Avi Ben Chimol scored 20 points and had 11 assists, while Patrick Richard contributed 21 points for the visitors. Daniel Ewing had 22 points and Simon Chase had 19 points in the losing effort for Ashdod.
Hapoel Tel Aviv 86-77 Ironi Nahariya
Hapoel Tel Aviv also won away, beating Ironi Nahariya 86-77. Richard Howell led the way for Hapoel with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Alando Tucker had 19 points. Gilbert Brown and Yancy Gates had 17 points each in the loss for Nahariya. Hapoel Tel Aviv’s scored 28 bench points compared to Nahariyas 17, emphasizing the difference in depth.
