Israel Basketball Gameday 30 Recaps & Highlights


A depleted Hapoel Holon snuck by Bnei Herzliya 88-85 thanks to Corey Walden scoring the last 11 points of the game to steal the victory. Walden ended the night with 27 points as Dequan Jones made his mark with 21 points after returning the squad. Jerome Dyson scored 26 points and Jeff Adrien recorded a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

Maccabi Tel Aviv upended Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 97-87 thanks to a strong 2nd and 4th quarters. Scottie Wilbekin led the away with 20 points, Michael Roll added 16 points while Johnny O’Bryant chipped in with 14 points and John DiBartolomeo had a career high 10 assists. Cameron Long with 19 points and Oz Blayzer with 18 points were the top scorers for Rishon.

Nahariya stunned Hapoel Tel Aviv 78-69 as the northern squad continues to battle against relegation. Anthony Barber was the high scorer with 21 points, Myke Henry added 15 points while Eric Griffin clocked in with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds but also blocked 5 shots in the win. Richard Howell dropped 16 points for the Reds as their playoff hopes took a serious hit with the loss.

Hapoel Jerusalem continueג to roll along hitting the century mark in points once again as they took out Hapoel Gilboa Galil 104-87. Tashawn Thomas (15 points) and James Feldeine (14 points) led a parade of nine players who scored at least 8 points. Greg Whittington and James Kelly each had double-doubles for Ariel Beit Halachmi’s squad in the loss.

Maccabi Ashdod rode a huge first half to defeat Nes Ziona 101-92. Brad Greenberg’s squad outscored the host’s 64-36 after twenty minutes to cruise to the win. Mark Tollefson was once again the man with the hot hand scoring 27 points while Paul Stoll and Josh Carter each chipped in 19 points a piece in the victory. Chris Dowe led the way with 19 points for Nes Ziona.

Hapoel Eilat got by Hapoel Beer Sheva 64-52 in a low scoring affair. Elijah Bryant scored 20 points but more importantly Suleiman Braimoh added 11 points and 17 huge rebounds for Eilat while Travis Warech led Beer Sheva with 15 points in the defeat.
