After three quarters of even play, Kazan bested Maccabi in the crucial fourth frame outscoring the home team 21-14 to pick up the win. The visitors were led by ex-Maccabi guard Keith Langford who dropped 30 points against his former mates while Devin Smith knocked down 20 points in the losing effort. Unics’ balanced attack yielded five players in double digits with Arturas Milaknks nailing 4-three pointers good for 12 points, as Guy Pnini drained 3-3’s for 15 points overall.
Strasbourg 75-71 Hapoel Jerusalem
A disappointing loss in France for the Reds leave them with an 0-3 record. EJ Rowland scored 20 points and Matt Janning added 10 points in the loss for Danny Franco’s side. Marry Collins for Strasbourg led all scorers with 14 points on the night.
Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 79-61 Novo Mesto
Rishon Le’Zion won yet another European contest featuring four players with over 15 points. Mark Lyons scored 19 points, with Charles Wright and Darryl Monroe each contributing 17 points in the victory placing the Orange in prime position to advance to the next round.
