Inter Aliyah blows out Maccabi Holon 86-50
After a long, nearly three-week break, the league returned to action on Tuesday night, as Inter Aliyah hosted Maccabi Bolandi Holon at home for the 3rd Liga Aleph Mercaz game of the season. Head coach AJ Mitnick selected a strong starting five, with Omri Rotman, Sam Roche, Meir Tapiro, Ron Changel and Yaniv Green opening up against a Holon side who have won once and lost twice heading into the matchup.
Inter started strong and took an early lead but Holon stayed within striking distance throughout the 1st quarter. However, by the 2nd period Inter had developed a double-digit advantage with the likes of Nyv Segev, Guy Schindler and Yarden Khoushy coming off the bench to score at will as the second half seemed more like a formality as the lead never dropped bunder 25 points. Nyv Segev led our scoring with 15 points, while Sam Roche (13) also reached double digits. Yet, it was a real team performance as all but one of 12 players on the night would get points on the board. A road trip to Yehud is up next for Mitnick’s squad.
