The signing of Weissman represents a significant statement of intent ahead for the upcoming season, adding quality, experience, leadership and a tremendous hunger for success to the club which will be under the direction of Almog Cohen. Shon brings proven ability, a winning mentality and the ambition to lead the team to new achievements.
After signing, Shon Weissman said, “After seven years of challenges, success and fulfilling dreams in Europe, the time has come to return home. There are journeys that shape you and there is one place that truly defines who you are. Today I close an important chapter in my career and begin a new yet familiar one in the place where it all started, Israel. There is no greater pride than playing in front of my family, my fans and my country, especially wearing the Beitar Jerusalem jersey. Returning home, to the capital city, is not just a professional decision, it is a choice of the heart and a sense of belonging.
“I arrive hungry, committed and excited to give everything I have on the pitch and represent the supporters with pride. People always told me that every player has to experience Beitar and I’m happy that moment has come for me. Thank you to everyone who stood by me throughout my journey in Europe. Now it’s time for us to begin a new journey together. Yalla Beitar! There’s no place like home. Am Yisrael Chai.”
