Holon wins in OT, Nes Ziona dumps Beer Sheva, Hapoel Tel Aviv thrashes Rishon & more!


Hapoel Eilat traveled up to Jerusalem and took home a dominant 99-83 victory over the Reds. The Red Sea side moved the ball well throughout the contest and dished out 29 assists as they were always one step ahead of Jerusalem in the win. JP Tokoto led the visitor’s with 22 points, Elijah Bryant added 20 points and 7 rebounds while Lenzelle Smith Jr. flirted with a triple double as he scored 16 points, dished out 9 assists and pulled down 9 rebounds. Da’Sean Butler scored 19 points as J’Covan Brown and Tashawn Thomas each added 14 points in the defeat.

Nes Ziona defeated Hapoel Beer Sheva 105-84 at home thanks to lethal 3-point shooting by Nadav Zilbertsein’s squad. Daequan Cook scored 30 points on the evening shooting 6/10 form deep, Tal Dunne came up one assist short of a triple-double as the veteran scored 13 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and handed out 9 assists while Gary Browne Ramirez dropped 19 points and Chris Dowe added 18 in the win. Semaj Christon scored 18 points for Beer Sheva in the loss.

Hapoel Holon pulled another overtime win out of their hats as they outlasted first place Hapoel Gilboa/Galil 112-106. Shawn Jones ended the evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, Khalif Wyatt dropped 22 points and Amit Simhon added 18 points in the win. Bryant Crawford led all scorers with a tremendous 35 points as James Kelly chipped in with 20 points in the defeat. 

Hapoel Tel Aviv won for the first time after five losses in a row when they defeated Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 85-62. Alade Aminu’s 21 points and 13 rebounds combined with Tomer Ginat’s 16 points and 7 boards along with Jamal Shuler’s 14 points made all the difference for Hapoel cancelling out doubles-doubles by three Rishon Le’Zion players. DeShawn Stephens dropped 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, Oz Blayzer added 15 points and grabbed 10 boards while Egor Koulechov chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.

Maccabi Ashdod visited Ironi Nahariya and took home a 92-86 win. Paul Stoll was the catalyst in the win scoring a tremendous 30 points, dished out 11 assists, stole the ball 6 times and drew 10 fouls while Landon Milbourne added 19 points in the victory. Myke Henry scored 22 points but committed 8 turnovers for Nahariya.
