Hapoel Holon downed Hapoel Haifa 74-65 as the purples broke a two game losing streak while the Carmel Reds are on a five game skid. Guy Goodes squad won all four quarters and held Elad Hasin’s team to only 13 points in two of the periods as Michale Kyser and Rafi Menco each notched double-doubles in the win.

Tyrus McGee led the way with 16 points, Kyser added 15 points and 10 boards, Joe Ragland scored 13 points while Rafi Menco scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the victory. James Ennis paced Haifa with 16 points, Amit Simhon added 14 points and Will Rayman scored 10 points in the loss.

“I am happy with the way we won and that we are for the most part healthy,” Goodes said. “We had good parts of the game and not so good and we were a bit tired but we won all 4 quarters.”

“We lost against a very good team but overall we played good defense,” Hasin said. “We were missing some killer instinct but I am happy for the most part from this game. Holon has some very experienced players who know how to take advantage of what they were given.”

Rafi Menco also reflected on the game, “I am happy we won after two straight losses and we got back onto the winning track. We defended very well for most of the game and only gave up 65 points. We have another game on Sunday and that is most important as we are not looking at anything more than one game at a time.”
