Holon clips Hapoel TLV in OT, Herzliya + Beer Sheva clinch playoff spots, Eilat sinks Gilboa into the Leumit League

Hapoel Holon clipped Hapoel Tel Aviv 100-95 in an overtime thriller at the Toto Arena in Holon. The hosts grabbed a slim 53-45 lead at halftime as Hayden Dalton, CJ Harris and Shawn Dawson scored points a plenty for Guy Goodes’s squad, however, Jordan McRae, Tomer Ginat and JP Tokoto flight back to tie the game up late and send the contest into overtime. In the extra session it was once again Harris who hit his free throws along with points from Dalton and Dawson that helped propel Holon to the victory. Following the game, Holon released Manny Harris. Dalton led the way with 28 points and 13 rebounds, Harrods added 27 points and Dawson scored 19 points in the win. McRae scored 24 points, Ginat added 18 points and Tokoto scored 15 points in the loss.

Bnei Herzliya overwhelmed Hapoel Haifa 95-72 to officially clinch one of the final two playoff spots thanks to a stellar second half that saw Oren Aharoni’s team outscore the visitors 53-31 to take the victory. Maurice Kemp led the way with 27 points, Chris Babb added 14 points and Oded Brandwein chipped in with 11 points in the win. Justin Tillman scored 28 points and Amit Simhon added 14 points in the loss.

Hapoel Beer Sheva downed Kiryat Ata 96-77 and punched their ticket to the postseason as the southern capital squad outscored the hosts 56-30 over the second half to close out the win. David Efiyani and Egor Koulechov each scored 16 points Joaquin Szuchman added 15 points and Roy Paretzky scored 14 points in the win. Amit Stevens led the hosts with 19 points while Diante Garrett and Karam Mashour each scored 13 points in the loss.

Hapoel Eilat defeated Hapoel Gilboa Galil 92-86 to officially relegate the Galilee squad to the second division. Ariel Beit Halachmi who began the season in charge of the Red Sea side saw his team take a 46-40 lead at halftime as they were fighting for their top division lives. However, a 27-14 third quarter by Maurizio Buscaglia’s team did the visitors in and sent them down a league. Eric Griffin led the way with 18 points, Austin Tilghman came close to a triple-double with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists, while Antonius Cleveland scored 15 points in the win. Robert Franks scored 24 points and Tony Carr put in 21 points in the loss.
