Bnei Herzliya will remain in the Israel Basketball Winner League for another season after defeating Nes Ziona 98-87 as Coty Clarke recorded a triple-double in an exciting game at the Lev HaMoshava Arena. The victory means that Maccabi Haifa will be relegated to the second division after two seasons in the top league. Brad Greenberg’s squad took a 52-45 lead at halftime on the strength of Nimrod Levi’s 21 first half points, but Clarke and Max Heidegger sparked the offensive attack for Sharon Drucker’s team over the final 20 minutes to chalk up the victory. Clarke finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, Heidegger scored 26 points, Gabe Levine put in 16 points while Yair Kravitz chipped in with 11 points and 11 assists in the win. Levi led the way for Nes Ziona with 26 points and Patrick Miller added 19 points in the loss.
Hapoel Holon downed Hapoel Eilat 104-93 as newcomer Michal Sokolowski made a strong impression in his purple debut to help Stefanos Dedas’s squad to the win. The hosts raced out to a 30-20 lead after ten minutes on the strength of Chris Johnson’s MVP performances long with Sokolowski’s fine play to cruise to the win. Johnson ended the night with 23 points, Sokolowski added 22 points and CJ Harris had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Roi Huber led the way for Eilat with 18 points and Joe Ragland added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
Hapoel Gilboa Galil ran all over Hapoel Haifa 77-63 in a game that was sewed up very early on in the Galilee as the teams look to cement their playoff positions before the postseason begins next week. Netanel Artzi scored 18 points, Nitzan Hanochi added 14 points and Isaiah Cousins chipped in with 11 points in the win. Jason Siggers was the Haifa high scorer with 13 points in the defeat.
