Hapoel Tel Aviv take on Paris on Wednesday (19:30) in Belgrade as the Reds will look to close the gap to the French team who sit atop the standings. Danny Franco’s squad who are in second place, sport a record of 11-3 as the regular season heads towards its twilight while Paris who are 13-1 will look to widen the gap to the hosts.
Ahead of the game, Franco who will be without a number of regulars due to injuries including Braian Angola, Jaylen Hoard, J’Covan Brown and John Holland but will have newcomers Will Cummings and Dez Wells available, spoke about the challenge at hand.
“It is clear to everyone that we are facing a high hurdle and a very high quality team, but as always we are focused on ourselves. We will try to leverage the last minutes in the Ramat Gan game into this one. The absences and injuries are part of the season and I’m sure the players will come and give their best to win the game.”
Tomer Ginat added, “Four games to go and every one is important to us. We have a goal – to finish in the first two places and qualify directly for the quarter finals. We may be missing some players, but each one of us has to give extra of ourselves so that we can get closer to the goal we have set for ourselves. We are playing against a good team, but we would like to come and show our special character as we ready for the significant challenge that is facing us.”
