Hapoel Tel Aviv cruises to big win over Trefl Sopot

Hapoel Tel Aviv cruised to a 93-64 win over Trefl Sopot as Marcus Foster starred for the visitors to bump their record up to 5-3 in EuroCup play. Tomer Ginat and Bruno Caboclo started scoring for Hapoel Tel Aviv as Marcus Weathers and Jacub Schenk countered for Trefl Sopot to get the game underway, but an incredible second quarter by Marcus Foster along with points from Ish Wainright gave the Reds a 45-32 lead at halftime.

Stefanos Dedas’s team came out in the second half showing no mercy as they scored in bunches with Foster, Ginat along with Patrick Beverley and Antonio Blakeney all finding the bottom of the basket to cruise to the win. Foster scored 21 points, Ginat added 14 points as Blakeney put in 12 points in the victory while Jacob Schenk scored 17 points for the hosts in the loss.

“The guys were very committed from the practice and the moment we got on the plane,” Hapoel Tel Aviv Head Coach Stefanos Dedas said. “We have confidence in what we are doing. we have won 80% of our games this year and if the distraction with the players and the coach who is not so good, we showed character and they proved a lot. To win by 30 points on the road at this level is not easy. I am satisfied and we will continue.”

Marcus Foster spoke about the keys to the victory, “For me it was about staying ready. My teammates trying to find me in positions they know I know how to score from. Defensively I got it done and helped the team push it through to the end.”
