Hapoel Jerusalem take down Neptunas 110-93

Hapoel Jerusalem cruised past Neptunas 100-93 as Cassius Winston starred in the win scoring at will and running the offense to perception to help the reds improve their EuroCup record to 5-2 with the victory. Jared Harper began the game well for Jerusalem while Khadeen Carrington and Winston also scored as Austin Wiley, Antonio Lamb and Yovel Zoosman were all busy but Zane Waterman, Arnas Berucka, Mindaugus Girdziunas and Donatas Tarolis helped the visitors take the lead. However, down the stretch Winston kept scoring while Harper also scored some important buckets to close out the win.

Winston scored 35 points, Harper added 21 points and Anthony Lamb dropped 17 points in the win while Waterman scored 18 points and both Berucka and Girdziunas put in 17 points in the loss.

Hapoel Jerusalem bench boss Yonatan Alon spoke about what changed the complexion of the game in the second half to help his side take the win, “My players decided they wanted go out and play defense for the last 14 minutes to the end, we scored and Cassius was amazing. Not every game will be like this but we have the character.”

The MVP Cassius Winston spoke about the victory, “Shout out to my teammates and coach for allowing me to be myself, make plays, scoring and passing and they gave me a great responsibility to help the team get the win.”

Bnei Herzliya fell to Trapani 101-88 in Champions League action as Elijah Stewart and Chinanu Onuaku’s efforts weren’t enough to hep their squad take the win. Stewart scored 20 points and Onuaku added 19 points and 10 boards but Timmy Allen was unstoppable with 24 points and Matt Hurt put in 18 points in the win.
