Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Aris Thessaloniki 78-68 to move their EuroCup record to 3-1 on the season. The Reds grabbed an early lead but the Greeks led by David De Julius went into halftime 39-32. However, fine play by Justin Smith, Jared Harper and Jeremy Morgan helped Yonatan Alon’s squad to a 30-18 final frame to give the visitors the 10-point victory. Smith scored 18 points while Harper added 14 points in the win while De Julius scored 30 points in the loss.

Yonatan Alon spoke about the win following the game, “We fixed things at halftime, we played the right way. We are still not in our flow, but we managed to fix up the opening of the game and we didn’t stop believing. I am satisfied, if we hadn’t missed so many free throws we would have scored around 90 points which is good. We need to keep collecting victories.”

“It was a whole team effort,” Harper told EuroLeague TV. “Coming in a tough environment like this and being able to win, it takes being special. We started up good, but we let them get back in the game. They got a lead, [but] we stayed with it, we fought through and [got] a great team win.”
