Hapoel Beer Sheva blanked Maccabi Bnei Reineh 3-0 thanks to a trio of second half goals in Israel State Cup quarterfinal action. After a goalless first half of play, Dan Bitton sent Amir Ganach a perfect pass as he beat keeper Lior Gliklich for a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. Igor Zlatanovic doubled the advantage from the top of the box 25 minutes later while Alon Turgeman slotted home a Roie Levi pass in injury time to close out the 3-0 victory.
Beer Sheva Head Coach Ran Kozuk spoke about the victory, “It was a challenge to beat the same team here twice and our focus was on winning the first league earlier in the week and then moving forward from there. We knew we had to bring a different approach here. This stadium is different.”
Bnei Reineh bench boss Adham Hadia said, “In the first half we were level in the game, except for the transitions, which we didn’t execute well. You can also take the fight we showed. Up until the 60th minute there were good things; the last half hour was not. We tried to make substitutions, but it didn’t help. We need to look ahead.”
