Halperin: “We will always be there”

Jun 10, 2018 | Holyland Hoops

Yotam Halperin of Hapoel Jerusalem looked ahead to this evening’s Israel Basketball Winner League Semi-final against Hapoel Holon and talked about coming together as a team once coach Oded Katash arrived:
“We along with many other clubs went though a bunch of changes and we also lost our star player. We also went through a number of coaches. Over the last little bit we have been able to find our place and the players know what their roles are and what they have to do in order for the team to win.”

The meaning of never underestimate a champion:
“When you are the champion it means we did something. The expectations are high because we have played well the last few seasons domestically. Danny Franco one of our former coaches said ‘Anytime there is a title on the line, we’ll be there’. Sometimes things are going well and sometimes not, but we will always be there. That’s something very important for us and I hope that we can be champions for at least another season. But the Final 4 is very even and there isn’t any result that will be a surprise”
