Hapoel Holon steamrolled over Hapoel Gilboa Galil 91-67 as Erick Green scored 31 points in the win up in the Galilee. Guy Goodes team grabbed a 27-19 advantage after ten minutes of play and bumped up their lead up to 30 points in the second to cruise to the victory. Green dominated the offense for the couples who also saw Marvin Jones score 21 points in the victory. Josh Perkins and Juston Gorham each scored 12 points in the loss.

“This was a tear game and a terrific team win which is most important,” Green said after the game. “We practiced our defense all week and we worked hard which we saw the results in this game. Everyone shared the ball and we all had good looks. Our leader Joe Ragland didn’t have a great game but other guys stepped up. Everyone has been great and told me to be aggressive and be me and shoot the ball. I am happy here and I am very happy to wake up every day and get to practice with these great fans.”

Nes Ziona sunk Hapoel Eilat 87-73 at Lev HaMoshava to take their first win of the season. Elad Hasin’s squad came ready to play as they raced out to a 29-17 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as DJ Cooper ran the offense to perfection while dishing out 20 assists to break his own league record which he set just last week with 19 helpers. Tyler Bey with 21 points and Shaq Buchanan with 17 points paced the attack as big man Jerome Meyinsse added 14 points and newcomer Ronnie Harrell chipped in with 11 points in the win. Amit Gershon and Eric Griffin scored 15 points a piece for Ariel Beit Halachmi’s team.

“I have to give credit to the players,” Hasin said following the game. “When the players are playing the way I want them to there is no need to bother them. It was great to start off with a game like this at home and we stopped their key players in Jared Terrell and Terran Petteway who scored only a combined 14 points.”

“We don’t look good,” Beit Halachmi said. “We have to do much better with what we have as we aren’t playing up to the level we need to. We need to see what we will do. We haven’t been able to find a point guard at the level we need.”
