“Elijah Childs did a great job defensively,” Avrahami began. “We knew that J’Covan Brown would try to control the game, but we were able to hold him and we made a run at the end to take the win. We kept Afula to the total points that we wanted to and that was also the key to the victory.”

Elitzur Netanya defeated Hapoel Haifa 78-75 to pick up their 5th victory of the season and keep the Carmel reds in the basement of the league. JaKeenan Gant, Tyler Bey and Daniel Rosenbaum gave Hapoel Haifa an early lead but an active Kyler Edwards and Carlos Marshall helped Elitzur Netanya storm back to take a 42-41 advantage at halftime.

Bryon Allen started to make an impact for his new team, but the host’s captain Ariel Izaak drained a pair of 3-pointers to put Netanya into the lead for good as they wrapped up the win. Edwards scored 23 points, Marshall added 15 points and Washington put in 13 points in the win. Gant scored 16 points and Matt Coleman scored 13 points in the loss.
