Hapoel Tel Aviv 3-1 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Hapoel Tel Aviv finally won a derby this season and did so in convincing fashion with a decisive 3-1 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Had it not been for Paulo Sousa’s introduction of Eran Zahavi in the second half the results could have been even worse for Maccabi. Omer Damari, Orel Dajani & a Gili Vermouth penalty was just what the Dr. ordered for Hapoel as the Reds can lift their heads up proudly for knocking off league leader Maccabi.
Beitar Jerusalem 4-0 Hapoel Ramat HaSharon
Beitar Jerusalem assured themselves of remaining in the Ligat Ha’Al with a convincing 4-0 victory over relegation zone Hapoel Ramat HaSharon. After a slow first half which saw Shlomi Azoulay capitalize on a RHS mistake the flood gates opened with 10 minutes to play as Yitzik Cohen scored a brace while Bryan Jones had a goal in between to send the small crowd of Beitar supporters home happy.
Maccabi Petach Tikva 1-0 Bnei Yehuda
Roie Dayan saved the day for Maccabi Petach Tikva as Yetav Luzon and his club will fight for yet another weekend to stay up in Ligat Ha’Al after a slim 1-0 win. Bnei Yehuda trying to do the same as their counterparts had a number of quality chances but were unable to find the tying goal.
Hapoel Akko 1-0 Hapoel Haifa
Hamdi Salihi scored the lone goal for Akko who are trying to cement their place in the Ligat Ha’Al for next season with the small 1-0 win over embattled Hapoel Haifa.
Hapoel Raanana 1-1 Ashdod
Yero Bello opened the scoring for Ashdod on the 6th minute penalty but Anthony Nwakaeme’s strike cancelled out the visitors goal as the team’s split the points in front of new Maccabi Haifa manager Aleksandar Stanojević & owner Yakov Shachar who were scouting the aforementioned Neakaeme.
Bnei Sakhnin 0-0 Hapoel Beer Sheva
Beer Sheva visited Sakhnin and though the result was better than Maccabi Tel Aviv’s visit there last week, a 0-0 draw and one point was not much better for the desert club. Both teams couldn’t find the back of the goal as Sakhnin is still trying to capture a European spot and the draw did not help their case.
