Hapoel Eilat dunked all over Hapoel Haifa as the Red Sea city squad downed the Carmel Reds 94-79 to advance to the Winner Cup semifinals where they will face Hapoel Holon on Thursday.
Ariel Beit Halachmi’s team came into the quarterfinal clash without two of their American imports after Will Cherry and Jacob Evans were dismissed from the team due to a second infraction of breaking quarantine upon their return to Israel from the FIBA Champions League qualification tournament held in Bulgaria. However, despite being shorthanded Eilat was able to overcome Elad Hasin’s team to punch their ticket to the next round of the competition.
Eilat jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never looked back as the club featured five players in double digits while out-rebounding and dosing out more assists than Haifa to take the victory.
