Crazy, Crazy Sports.
Well that’s what we got the past few days.
Let’s see. Cliff Lee totally dominating the New York Yankee batters. Roy Halladay showing that he is not quite superman. The New York Jets are up and the Dallas Cowboys are, way, way down. The Pittsburgh Penguins are finally looking like the team we have grown accustomed to the last few seasons.
Taking a peak at the Texas Rangers, shows us a team that should be up 3 games to none against the listless Yankees. Please can someone on the Yankees hit the ball and score a couple of runs? Please? Can someone wake up their dormant bats before its too late?
Texes manager Ron Washington looks like Einstein by starting Cliff Lee in game 3 and taking a 2-1 lead in Yankee stadium. The aforementioned Washington who before the season came out and said that he had been having drug problems, some how put this squad together and made them into a team. With the midseason acquisition of Lee, they became unstoppable.
Without the 8th inning comeback in game 1 the Yankees would be staring at a do or die game tonight.
I believe that the Texas Rangers are the team of destiny and have been saying so all year. This is Arlington’s chance to finally beat the Yankees and head into the Fall Classic.
Wednesday night I, “The Sports Rabbi” on Israel Sports Radio.com at 7pm in Israel, 1pm EST will have the privilege to speak with Mike Vaccaro from the New York Post covering the Yankees/Rangers playoff battle. He’ll fill us in on why the Yankees have been struggling and give our listeners an insiders view of what is going on in the Bronx.
Mike will also talk about his book “The First Fall Classic” which deals with the 1912 World Series that pitted the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox.
Going over to the National League, the big Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum match up, well wasn’t as good as Cliff Lee’s performance with each pitcher giving up a pair of homers. Also coming aboard will be Filip Bondy of the New York Daily News. Filip is in San Francisco covering the Philadelphia Phillies/SF Giants NLCS and will give us an update of what has been going on the West Coast.
The New York Jets are now 5-1. Who would believe it? After looking horrific in the first game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens losing 10-9, they have rattled off some big wins versus some good quality opponents including the Patriots, Dolphins, Broncos and Vikings. Chris Nimbley of Jets Insider will join the Sports Rabbi to discuss the state of the Jets going into their Bye week and what Rex Ryan has instilled in this team, that may I dare say will take their talents to the Super Bowl!
Sidney Crosby & Evgeni Malkin look to be back on the right page as the Penguins are now 4-3, early in the NHL season. Doc Ike our NHL Expert Analyst will fill us in on all the goings on on the ice.
Want to talk more Philly sports? More Phillies, Eagles, Flyers & 76ers? Well we will have the chance with 97.5 FM The Fanatic’s own Mark Schwartzman. Mark will be talking all Philly all the time in the last segment of the “Sports Rabbi”.
Have a question about the Eagles QB controversy? Will Evan Turner help or hinder the 76ers? Are the Flyers headed back to the Stanley Cup? Send us your questions via our “Chat” facility on the IsraelSportsRadio.com website or call us at 718-305-5305 in North America or 02-563-4751 in Israel.
Come on and join the fun!
