Maccabi Tel Aviv welcomed Oshae Brissett back to Israel as the forward landed back in the Holy Land to begin preparations for the 2026-27 season. After the 28-year old Canadian collected his luggage he spoke about the summer that was, expectations and more.

“It’s great, man. Great to be back. I’m glad to be back. It felt like a short summer, but, you know, I’m here and I’m ready to go. I feel more comfortable coming into my second season and I think that’s the main point. When I started to get more into it, it was just more comfortable.”

Brissett spoke about the team that has been assembled with some holdovers from last season as well as some newcomers, “I feel we’ve got a great team. It’s just going to take, you know, a couple of games to get together and learn each other. But all the guys that we have, I know they’re ready to win and they want to win. So it’s exciting. I feel like we’re going to be really good. Really, really good. A lot of the guys I’ve played against or played with. So having them on the team is going to be great. I just know everyone’s excited. They’re excited to do better things than what we did last year.”

Bonzie Colson is a new addition but he’s also a player that has been with Maccabi in the past and Brissett knows that this will be a wonderful asset to the club, “I feel like when I got here a lot of people talked about him. So I’m excited to see how we work together. And I’m glad that he’s on our team. I know everyone loves him here. I know he loves being here and that’s all that matters. If you’re a player and you love playing for this team, it’ll show and I think everyone’s excited for that.”

As for goals for the Euroleague this season, Brissett has a lofty one, “To win. That’s it. To win.”
