Beitar Jerusalem 3-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Beitar secured their spot in Europa League qualifying with a round to spare as the home side dominated the Treble winners 3-0. Maccabi Tel Aviv played like they had a championship hangover as nothing seemed to go right for the Threepeat champs. Lidor Cohen opens the scoring as Yellow and Blue keeper Juan Pablo Colinas made a crucial mistake in the box early on in the match giving Beitar a shock lead. Then Omer Atzili raced down the left side of the pitch, Lidor Cohen picked up an errant clearing attempt and Hanan Maman totally tripped up Omri Ben Harush who landed on his rear end and slotted the ball home to make it 2-0. Itzik Cohen out the cherry on top of the game with the 3rd goal collecting a pinpoint pass from Atzili to send the fans into exctasy.
Maccabi Petach Tikva 1-0 Maccabi Haifa
Disaster for The Greens. Losing 1-0 to Petach Tikva coupled with Beitar Jerusalem’s 3-0 victory leaves them out of a Europa League qualifying spot and building from scratch next season under the watchful eye of Roni Levy. Omer Danino scored the only goal of the game as Haifa played with very little pizzazz and were lackluster yet again going down to defeat.
Kiryat Shemona 3-1 Hapoel Beer Sheva
Roi Kehat scored a hat trick just a couple of days before his wedding to lead Kiryat Shemona to a 2nd place finish. Kehat is also being rumored to head to Austria Wien, Maccabi Haifa or Maccabi Tel Aviv the past week and the 3 goal performance will surely enhance his value and negotiating position. Dovev Gabbay scored the lone goal for Beer Sheva who also named Barak Bachar their new coach for the upcoming season.
