With more than 20,000 season tickets holders, Head Coach Almog Cohen’s squad, which saw a number of new additions come on board during the offseason, will have incredible support at home and on the road. The goal in front of Beitar is clear and that is winning the league title that they came so close to doing last year.

The thousands of fans that came to the Bayit Vegan training facility packed the practice pitches, sang to their heart’s delight, lit flares, lifted players onto their shoulders and gave the team a festive welcome ahead of the new campaign. The supporters serenaded the players and coaching staff, creating what felt like a carnival atmosphere to mark the beginning of the season.

At Beitar, there is an understanding that with high expectations comes great responsibility. After the club remained in the title race until the closing rounds of last season, there is belief that the summer reinforcements, combined with continuity in the squad and the strong connection with the fans, can make Beitar a genuine contender at the top of the table. However, time will tell if that will no doubt be the case for the yellow-and-black.

At the end of last season, the club parted ways with Dor Micha, Dor Hugi, Gonzalez, Grigori Morozov and Yarin Levy while Tomer Yosefi, Eugene Ansah, Daniel Worko, Noam Moche, Shon Weissman, Nevo Sadeh, Dvir Nir and Amit Hilo all joined the team.

The first official match will be the “European Toto Cup” contest this Saturday night (20:30) against Hapoel Tel Aviv at the Netanya Stadium. After that, Beitar will play a two-legged tie versus AEK Larnaca with the first match slated for next Thursday night in Cyprus while the return contest will take place the following week in Romania, near Bucharest which will be a home match due to the security situation in Israel.
