Beer Sheva defeats Inter at the death, Maccabi falls at Zenit

Zenit St. Petersburg 2:0 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi came into the match confident that a positive result was a possibility and for most of the match it looked as if it certainly could happen, but Zenit’s quality showed in the end as Aleksandr Kokorin scored in the 44th minute while Aleksandr Kerzhakov added an insurance marker on a 91st minute free kick to send Maccabi home empty handed. Maccabi will host Dundalk on Matchday Six in two weeks as the second place finisher of the group will be decided on that night.

Hapoel Beer Sheva 3:2 Inter Milan

Inter struck first as Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic found the back of the goal in the first half but Beer Sheva came back with three goals of they own in the second half through Lucio, a Nwakaeme penalty after a red card to Inter keeper Samir Handanovic and a Ben Sahar winner deep into stoppage time to steal the 3-points. Beer Sheva play their final match at Southampton and need a draw to advance to the Round of 32.
