Ashram and Zelikman advance to Rhythmic Gymnastic Final

Israeli medal hopeful in Rhythm Gymnastics Linoy Ashram qualified third overall for the finals while fellow Sabra Nikola Zelikman also punched her ticket to Saturday’s event with a 7th place finish in the qualifier.

Ashram had a rough start after dropping the hoop in her first rotation and dropped to 16th place overall with a score of 23.50 but came back strong in the second rotation placing first place with a score of 28.25 in ball.

Clubs were Ashram’s third rotation where she finished in 3rd place with a score of 27.85 while she ended the fourth rotation in 9th with a score of 23.50 in ribbon.

Zelikman scored 24.35 in hoop, 25.50 in ball, 24.95 in clubs and 21.10 in ribbon to qualify for the finals which will take place at 9:20am on Saturday morning Israel time.

The Israel Equestrian Team took part in the Team Jumping Qualifier but were eliminated when Teddy Vlock fell from his horse and Ashlee Bond withdrew from the competition. Alberto Michan was the only Israeli rider to complete the course as the team didn’t advance to the final.
