After a busy 3 medal Shabbat, Israel has quiet Sunday at the Paris Olympics

After collecting a record three medals in one day on Saturday, the Israel Olympic delegation had a quiet Sunday. In Mixed Dinghy, the duo of Nitai Hasson and Noa Larry moved up to 6th place after the 6th race of 10 by finishing second in race 6 as the top 10 teams advance to the finals and will race for a medal.

In Men’s Omer Vered Vilenchik finished races 7 and 8 in 20th and 25th respectively as he now sits in 30th place overall while over in the Women’s Dinghy Shai Kakon finds herself in 24h place having finished in 25th in race 7 and 10th in race 8.

Dor Zarka in Men’s Kite finished in 10th place after his fifers four races while Gal Zukerman on the Women’s side ended up in 11th spot after her opening four faces.

In Women’s Road Race Cycling, Rotem Gafinovitz finished in 77th place with a time of 4:13:42, 14:19 minutes off of the top spot.

On Monday, Israel will make their Paris Olympics Track and Field debut as Blessing Afrifah will be competing in the first round of the Men’s 200m. The 20-year old has won gold in the 2023 U23 European Championship as well as the 2022 U23 World Champion ship and is making his first appearance at the Olympic Games.   

The Israeli Equestrian Team will be participating in the Individual Jumping competition as Ashlee Bond, Daniel Bluman, Robin Muhr and Isabella Russekoff will all be in action as well.
