Maccabi Tel Aviv fell to Olympiacos 77–72 on Sunday evening in what was a thrilling preseason game in Nicosia, Cyprus. The yellow-and-blue opened the game well, taking a 22–10 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, Olympiacos took control in the second quarter, outscoring Maccabi 25–13 to tie the contest up at 35–35 at halftime.
However a 20-12 advantage in the fourth quarter helped the Greeks to the win. Late in the game, Yam Madar suffered a minor knee contusion during the game but is not a significant injury.”
Bonzie Colson led the way with 17 points (7 rebounds), Roman Sorkin added 14 points and Iffe Lundberg put in 9 points in the loss. Olympiacos was led by Mbaye Ndiaye with 14 points.
On Friday evening, Maccabi defeated Aris Thessaloniki 92–87 also in a game that took place in Cyprus as Colson led the way with 23 points while Oshae Brissett added 19 points in the win.
